As we bring 2024 to a close, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support and dedication to La Salle School Homabay. This has been an incredible year filled with progress, growth, and cherished memories. Below are some highlights and important updates as we transition into the new academic year.
- Spelling Bee Challenge
We proudly hosted a Spelling Bee competition, a fun and engaging way for learners to enhance their vocabulary and public speaking skills. We were thrilled to welcome learners from two other schools – Little Harvard School and St. Scholastica Primary and Junior School – as they joined our Grade 2 students for a spirited challenge.
The event not only tested the students’ spelling abilities but also fostered confidence, teamwork, and a love for language among our young learners. The performances from all schools were inspiring, with participants demonstrating their dedication and hard work. We are incredibly proud of all our Grade 2 learners for their remarkable efforts and sportsmanship.
provided a platform for our learners to immerse themselves in the French language, helping to build both fluency and cultural appreciation. Through interactive activities, presentations, and language exercises, our students engaged with their peers in meaningful ways, enriching their understanding and command of French.
Our learners represented La Salle School with enthusiasm, and we commend them for their active participation and impressive performance. Such experiences are invaluable in broadening their worldview and enhancing their confidence in using a second language.
Outreach Program
I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for your remarkable support toward our recent charity event held on 19th October 2024 in Shauri Yako, Homabay town. Through your contributions, together with the efforts of our learners and staff, we were able to reach and uplift over 80 families in need. Your generosity embodies the spirit of compassion and service that is central to our mission at La Salle School Homa Bay and reflects the teachings of our founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle.
In the spirit of St. La Salle, who dedicated his life to education and serving the marginalized, we strive to instill in our students a deep sense of responsibility and empathy toward others. By your example, you have not only supported those in need but also helped our learners understand the value of kindness, humility, and community service, shaping them to become individuals who can make a positive difference in society.
