On 15th February 2025, We had the distinct honor of hosting His Grace Bishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kisumu, on a courtesy visit in our school. His visit was a moment of great significance, as he toured key developments within the school, including the newly established E-Cooking Home Science Lab and the expanded Pre-School section.
The Archbishop was warmly received by the school’s Director Br. Antone Oloo FSC and Br. Joseph Nderi FCS. His visit began with a blessing and a brief address to the school community, where he emphasized the importance of holistic education—one that nurtures both academic excellence and Christian values.
During his tour of the E-Cooking Home Science Lab, he commended the school’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and hands-on learning. The lab integrates green energy technologies to provide students with a modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly approach to home science education. His Lordship expressed his admiration for the initiative, highlighting its role in preparing learners for a future where sustainability is paramount.
The Archbishop also visited the newly expanded Pre-School section. He lauded the school’s dedication to early childhood education, recognizing that a strong foundation in the early years significantly contributes to lifelong learning success.
In his closing remarks, Bishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba encouraged La Salle School Homa Bay to remain steadfast in its mission of academic excellence, moral formation, and service to the community. His visit left an indelible mark on the school, inspiring the Lasallian team.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to His Grace for his visit, prayers, and blessings. The school remains committed to providing quality education in line with its Lasallian values and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
